Stacey Solomon shows fans inside gorgeous ‘mermaid’ bathroom that is now her favourite room at Pickle Cottage

Any fan of Stacey Solomon’s will know that over the last year she has been renovating her beautiful home Pickle Cottage. The Loose Women presenter and her fiancé Joe Swash bought the £1.2 million family home in the countryside in Essex back in March 2021.

Ever since then the mum-of-four has been documenting the renovation journey of her ‘forever’ home with her fans on Instagram, revealing impressive transformations of rooms such as Joe Swash’s man cave and her two-year-old son Rex’s dinosaur-themed bathroom.

Stacey and Joe recently marked a year in their Tudor-style home with their baby daughter Rose, son Rex and Stacey’s two older children Zachary, 14, and nine-year-old Leighton, from previous relationships.

The DIY queen has now shared the latest instalment of her renovation project with fans, revealing a video of her gorgeous ‘mermaid’ bathroom that she says could now well be her ‘favourite room’ at Pickle Cottage so far.

The stunning neutral coloured bathroom is complete with beige tiles, a glittery sink basin, shiny mosaic tiles that resemble a mermaid’s scales, a shell-shaped sink as well as gold fittings and accessories. Sharing the reel on her Instagram, Stacey wrote: “Mermaid Bathroom done. Here she is… finally. This is where you will find me from now on.

“I think this may be my favourite room at pickle cottage so far. I painted this room black and white when we moved in because we knew it would be a year or so before we could do it properly but it was worth the wait! Happy Saturday everyone.”

The TV star then tagged in small businesses and companies who she had bought bits for her bathroom from so that her fans could create their own mermaid-style bathroom. She also shared a picture of what the bathroom looked like before she got her hands on it – which was completely unrecognisable to what it looks like now.

Stacey has herself been compared to a mermaid after dying her hair last November. Fans were quick to tell her that her bright red hair made her look just like Ariel from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

In response to her bathroom makeover, Stacey’s close pal Mrs Hinch commented: “Now that is definitely Ariel in her natural habitat. Absolutely beautiful bathroom bubs. I’m in love.”

Stacey recently shared a glimpse of her huge outdoor pool which is soon-to-be filled and revealed she got emotional as her nine-year-old son made a heart-warming comment. She also revealed her beautiful new spring display which left fans in complete awe.
